I like the Droideka name especially how those slippery Neimoidians pronounce it. Whoever programmed your Destroyer to act coquettishly sexy...is a freak. 😂 I don't have it. Budget is a big concideration for me; but I think Hasbro played a blinder with this. I agree with you Mike some blaster bolts would've added to the fun. An energy shield would've been the icing on the cake. A few years ago I bought Hasbro's Overwatch The Ultimates Reinhardt. A big beefy beast of a figure. That came with a massive hammer and an energy shield. Granted the shield looks like the lid off a tupperware box; but still, they could make a semi transparent ball to sit over this droid of death. Great review Mike. I love you deadpan delivery. Baldilocks' recent review of Gnawgshide for GI Joe Classified was up there too for chuckles.

This pretty easily the black series figure of the year so far for me. Just an an amazing acheivement in toy design and engineering. The degree to which they were able to capture the complexity of all the pieces and parts of the design and make it all both look great AND generally function well is really outstanding. I really can’t think any other action figure in any line that approaches this complexity and what they have pulled off I think is pretty unprecedented at a low 30 dollar price point. It’s not perfect because no action figure is, but this is a top ten black series figure of all time for me and gonna be pretty hard to top for BS figure of the year.

It would've been great if Hasbro had first realeased this big guy in a special type packaging that looked like the droideka shield 🤌🏻🤌🏻

3:30 Fun history of the Droideka design, Gunray's walking throne, etc. Early concept Neimoidians were based on insects, more like Geonosians crossed with a B1. It wasn't practical, so instead we got animatronic amphibians and these cool little design echoes in their technology. Kind of a happy accident that expanded the universe, made the TF and Neimoidians more complex than "bug aliens and their bug droids."

I have problems with you swapping Aayla Secura mic with Ki-Adi Mundi mic. Best blue jedi versus one of the worst jedi's in the council... although his head does seem like clip on perfection there...

Hi! There's a point where I talk about the paint, and I gloss over a lot of the paint on the head and ball part, because I'm focused on the other parts. Also, with my colorblindness, it all kind of blends. in. I just wanted to say that yes, the figure has paint, and it looks great. But there's also a lot of places it doesn't have paint. And to me, that kinda stands out more. I probably should bump the score up a quarter of a point, but I'm sticking with he score because I think it feels right.

I have the same criticisms as you do with this. I love it, but I don’t find it fun to mess with because of how quickly the joints get lose, it ultimately gets the same treatment as my traffic cone figures (pose once and then display). I ordered three, two to keep is attack mode and one to keep in ball mode. I ended up selling my third but kept my old Mega for the ball mode look. I collect Transformers too, and I see the engineering they can pull off these days. I’m surprised a TF consultant wasn’t brought in for this, it is so close to working. Nothing I’m going to obsess over, just slightly disappointed we were this close to getting a modern transforming Destroyer. Condolences to you, I have lost friends too. It just hits different. 😢

I saw one of these at Gamestop a couple of weeks ago and I was going to get it, but my nephew saw it and was so excited about it that I went ahead and just let him buy it for himself (he's 24, so I don't buy toys for him anymore). Now I just gotta hope that another one shows up at some point.

They need to do more stuff like this and I'm surprised they didn't do more, I mean it would be like 4 or 5 more characters and thats it. Really only need new tooling for a couple of the, and just some new heads and accessories.

Hey, I have this figure also, I noticed that when I slightly unplugged his footpegs, he was able to stand in a more dynamic stance.

Is this gonna be the first guy who gets it right? Edit: He's the closest so far, but the black series isn't even strong enough to get it right

Mike Kaese did a video on how to get the droid into ball mode, and I found a video from the art of action figures , he has a decent way of getting it into ball mode.

This is one of the reasons I'm happy the internet never raises. I never got this guy, Though now with the re release. I can go back watch these reviews. I gotta say i'm excited, real excited. but a lot of that is just because I didn't have him. Excellent review as always Mike, thanks.

Just ordered that rotj boba a few days ago, looking forward to when it arrives! The other figs are stuff i definitely would like to collect in the future, i will say though i do fancy that carboniteish look, shiny is cool!

Am I the only one wondering what the 2 silver dots on the the chest are for. First I thought they were metal pins for the arms to hinge but they're not metal and have no connection to the arms. I still think it looks like something should attach to the chest🤔

It’s interesting bc the Droideka cg model “cheated” for the designers and animators to put it into wheel mode. Very good that Hasbro gave it a good try to let it be in ball mode, can’t wait for mine. Good video

I know this is an old video, but would you say that it's worth it to get this Jango over the SHF version? I ask because there's not a huge price difference and I wonder if I should just get it for another twenty dollars or so.
